US Govt Funding Al-Qaeda Attacks in Iran?

Postby Mango on Mon May 28, 2007 5:13 pm

Someone linked me to this article, so I thought I'd make a post here and ask you guys what you think.

It appears that the US government is using Al-Qaeda off-shoot organisation named Jundallah (a group allegedly under the command of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, who was arrested and, recently, confessed to everything under the sun - including the '93 WTC bombing !) to conduct terrorist attacks inside Iran. This appears after Bush has signed a document giving his approval for the initiation of 'black ops' in Iran.

Excerpt from article:
"
Vice-President [Dick] Cheney helped to lead the side favouring a military strike, but I think they have concluded that a military strike has more downsides than upsides."

However, the CIA is giving arms-length support, supplying money and weapons, to an Iranian militant group, Jundullah, which has conducted raids into Iran from bases in Pakistan.

Iranian officials say they captured 10 members of Jundullah last weekend, carrying $500,000 in cash along with "maps of sensitive areas" and "modern spy equipment".
"

There have also been more accusations that the US government has been funding other domestic millitia in Iran.
I'll finish with a quote:

To a growing number of people around the world America's war on terror is about hypocrisy and double standards, about terrorists classified as good and bad depending on their usefulness to the great game of power politics.

I am not suprised, either ... US always fund people who turn against them later, but whom they can use against enemies of the present.

I think it just shows how false this 'war on terror' is, when you have governments like the US's funding this kind of stuff. And yet Bush will always get up on the podium and talking about 'defending freedom' and such. A bunch of lying liars, crooks and thieves.

though isn't the telegraph a bullshit tabloid?
What newspapers aren't? They're all bias propagandist foolery. But they do print truth at times, sometimes it's a grain of truth spun like a high-calibre round into the public's cortex. Sometimes they do print outright lies. It's up to you to decide, look at the sources and track records. Follow the money.

1) Telegraph is not a reliable source
2) really conflicting information: first it says the US has no interest in any military options, instead covertly screwing with black market goods/industrial sabotage (which is a brilliant idea) and then it says, oh, and funding a terrorist organization. WHAT?

Could it be happening? Sure, why not? Do I believe this article? Not really.

When it says "military action" I believe it means overt military action, such as a US led invasion a la Iraq.

"Cheney helped to lead the side favouring a military strike, but I think they have concluded that a military strike has more downsides than upsides." Meaning that a proper US attack has more disadvantages then funding terrorists to attack and destabalise certain areas, and this coupled with manipulation of the black market and industrial sabotage make a far better option than an overt attack on Iran.

The group itself have been fingered for its involvement in attacks on police stations and car bombings at the Pakistan-US Cultural Center in 2004.

"As to al Qaeda in Iraq, al Qaeda is going to fight us wherever we are. That's their strategy. Their strategy is to drive us out of the Middle East. They have made it abundantly clear what they want. They want to establish a caliphate. They want to spread their ideology. They want safe haven from which to launch attacks. They're willing to kill the innocent to achieve their objectives, and they will fight us. And the fundamental question is, will we fight them? I have made the decision to do so. I believe that the best way to protect us in this war on terror is to fight them," Bush said on Thursday.

It just seems really hypocritical for him to say after this report states that the CIA are funding Jundullah in Iran.

The US has an appalling track record in funding terrorism and propping up dicators, as Happy has stated, seen in South America.

There are also others, who may be a more credible sources, that have spoke about covert action in Iran: Former UN weapons inspector in Iraq, Scott Ritter, addressed this very issue and described how intelligence gathering, direct action and the mobilizing of indigenous opposition is all being carried out already by CIA backed US special forces.

As with Iraq, the president has paved the way for the conditioning of the American public and an all-too-compliant media to accept at face value the merits of a regime change policy regarding Iran, linking the regime of the Mullah's to an "axis of evil" (together with the newly "liberated" Iraq and North Korea), and speaking of the absolute requirement for the spread of "democracy" to the Iranian people.

But Americans, and indeed much of the rest of the world, continue to be lulled into a false sense of complacency by the fact that overt conventional military operations have not yet commenced between the United States and Iran.
As such, many hold out the false hope that an extension of the current insanity in Iraq can be postponed or prevented in the case of Iran. But this is a fool's dream.

The reality is that the US war with Iran has already begun. As we speak, American over flights of Iranian soil are taking place, using pilotless drones and other, more sophisticated, capabilities.
The violation of a sovereign nation's airspace is an act of war in and of itself. But the war with Iran has gone far beyond the intelligence-gathering phase.
President Bush has taken advantage of the sweeping powers granted to him in the aftermath of 11 September 2001, to wage a global war against terror and to initiate several covert offensive operations inside Iran.

Ritter goes on to describe how Iranian opposition groups, including the well known right-wing terrorist organization known as Mujahedeen-e Khalq (MEK), once run by Saddam Hussein's dreaded intelligence services, but now working exclusively for the CIA's Directorate of Operations, are carrying out remote bombings in Iran of the sort that the Bush administration condemns on a daily basis inside Iraq.

Let us also not forget the shameful actions the US & UK perpertrated in the propaganda campaign against Dr. Mohammed Mossadegh and the 1953 coup in Iran under Operation Ajax.

All I can say is this; I wish this fucking war would end already! Our stupid government is making everyone hate America. I'm sicked of that wretched Bush; he has destroyed the American dreams, and he won't stop until America is wiped off the map. He wants the world to hate us, he wants us destroyed; and it gets worse with his "government" of lackeys. I just wish the elections would get here before that; people will hopefully elect someone more sane than that psycho Bush...

I always seem to forget the positive side of things, including America. But if America is this much trouble, why is it still around? It should be disbanded, and taken over by Europe or another superpower. I just don't know; America has it's good and bad sides, and it seems to be more bad than good these days...

Two quotes come to mind when reading this

the enemy of my enemy is my friend

and

one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter

I think it is only fair, play their game. If Iran wants to fund terrorist in Iraq then why not fund freedom fighters in Iran?

I dunno, because nobody's reacting?
few instances and threads ago there was this idiot ranting about how the first amendment gave you the right to bear arms to do something about your government... and how he found that so very useful. well I see nothing happening now lol.
so I conclude that A: that argument was useless.
B: you don't need weapons...
and C: vote democrats this time, who cares if they fuck up, atleast you made a good moral decision.

(which do you prefer, international scandals/retard for president? or somebody having a second wife :P)

The US has performed lots of sneaky shit over the years and it's probably still going on.
take for example Chile
+ well south america as a whole.

and take a good look at how much money the top of the US is making, and take a good look at how many of those corporations are republican and take a good look at how they all fervently believe in god and love old traditions and keeping you stupid so they can earn more money.

I'm not really much of a smooth talker sorry, someone like hurr.... Dragonfliet or Athlete should fill you in lol

If you want to know about America's shit, then you should read Confessions of an Economic Hitman (also an Anti-Flag song woo).

It is an interesting book about one man's life in the secret world of economic exploit. Economic hitmen work for American (and probably other western) firms that give aid to third-world countries and developing contries, such as building contracts for schools and housing etc. Then they make sure western, (usually American) building companies get the job.

Then the contries are in debt to America, so when America needs some political help or military help in their region or more global, they have to agree, because they owe it to them.

This is why so many countries are f*cked up and why America didn't want to clear Africa's debt...because they would have nothing on the countries to force them to help them out.

Anyway, it is a real eye-opener, great read.
