only watched the first vid, but if this person was being obnoxious and not stopping to ask questions, and that was the reason of the whole affair, then i guess even that first police officer could have been a bit more talky instead of pushy in the first few seconds. It didnt look like the student was warned a lot (no more than a "quiet now boy") before they started pushing him around. And be honest people, even the most friendly old guy doesnt like being being pushed around for no apparent reason... If it was up to me, every single police officer there would have gotten a warning, this is no way to behave for a person in their function. They went way out of their line when they tazed the guy, no matter how medically safe it is, it hurts like hell. These people need an anger management course, there are other ways to calm a person, talking is one of them.

I find that offensive. :(

Fair play, apologies. And by no means do I see America as the only country with problems. The UK is a shit heap in every way possible, take my word for it.

I do know however, that if 5 cops jumped a guy at a political conference here and tasered him on the floor their would be outrage. It just reminds of that whole gung-ho "I have a weapon, let's use it" attitude.

No need.

The speaker shouldn't have continued talking either, I found that very concerning.

But oh well, it shall all be forgotten soon I imagine.

Apology accepted.

And yeah, I never meant to say that you thought America was the only country with problems.

Anyway. The guy was definitely being an idiot, but I think it was a little ridiculous that 5 of em had to take him at once.

Its bullshit that your rights are revoked just because you walk into a federal building. If anything, your rights should be more so there than anything else, as thats basically what our government was erected to protect.
I dont think this obnoxious person needed to get tasered at all.

That's the problem of the video. There was a set limit of 1 minute. He exceeded the minute, but kept going. He was given gentle reminders and then the mic was eventually turned off, when he continued (getting more belligerent) the officers attempted to escort him out which is where the video STARTED). If you read the article associated with it you'll realize there's a LITTLE bit more than the obviously biased edit shows.

I'm actually with the Security on this one. The guy is a douche and he shouldn't of been resisting so much, we only see him getting pulled off when asking a question when in reality he was up there for ages hassling Kelly and he WAS asked to step down, he then resisted arrest, and makes a whole big deal about the fact that he "Didn't do anything" when really he did. The tasering was a BIT excessive, but it was just once, enough for them to get the cuffs on him.

So there you go.

He Talked for well over a minute. thats why they shut of his mic. The videos don't show that, but thats how the media like to play it.

Guy is a douche. If your gonna resist Then what the hell did he think was gonna happen? I would say that the officers Should have been more verbal at the begining. and resorted to pushing later. but then again the Audio for the clips is pretty bad so maybe they did and i just didn't hear it. It just Escalated too quickly.

The Tazer Allowed them to get the cuffs on him right? so then it did its job it served its purpose. Doesn't that indicate that its use was justified.

He was warned that if he did not stop he would be tazed. And well once that is said it cannot be unsaid. He did not comply ergo he got tazed.

Who cares if the cops wanted him to stop talking?

Listen carefully, Kerry says (something like, been a while since i watched it) "Wait, wait, I want to answer his question"

Then he starts answering the question when the guy is in the back.

The thing that surprises me the most is that no one gets up and to help the guy, or do anything at all. They are all looking at him like if nothing is going on, and let the polic abuse him. It that happened here the police campus guys would probably get their asses kicked

No, there'd be more outrage at the campus police (if they had one) shooting a pistol round into the ceiling.
Or worse at a student.
Because thats what they'd have done had someone or some people started to try and intervene

Five guys arent enough to get cuffs on him? A taser should be used to stop someone from shouting?

Great point as well.
Maybe they shouldve just used a flashbang and tear gassed the entire crowd along with the taser.

Cops suck. And for a while i wanted to become one (and join SWAT, ofcourse, the fun stuff.)

Pff like if they had the balls to take out their guns (this sentence is sooooo gay). You can't forget that police officers are regular people in a uniform, if you stand up against them they get scared like every1 else.

Actually, Barrakid, the idea of people standing up against the officers would've probably pissed the police officers off and they'd probably start tazing more people. Police don't get scared like other people because they're dick heads who love to use their authority to intimidate people and most people do succumb to the intimidation. It's not that I hate cops, some are nice but most of them try to push you around.
(Sorry for not quoting. I don't like to quote and prefer just addressing the person, the idea, and then responding.)

I want to avoid a cops are dicks rant, but it sickens me that 1: the mans right to free speech is being denied

Well, I agree he should NOT have been getting arrested in the first place, BUT: he did resist arrest. It doesn't matter why your getting arrested, if you resist arrest, even an unlawful arrest, thats bad.
