The link isnt about that oil costs $100 a barrel. The link is about the fact that the same barrel costs $5 to make

"...judging for the price of petrol, no fucking oil in Iraq either. Everytime I gotta go back to the States I gotta listen to American friends of mine whine on about the fact they gotta pay $3 a gallon for gasoline '$3 a gallon Dave it's horrible.' Really? I got friends of mine in England [who] would kick a nun to death for $3 a gallon.

They are like 'Well how much is it in England?' [jokes about the exchange rate]. I tell them it works out at almost $7 a gallon for gasoline, the Americans are like 'Oh my god! 7 bucks a gallon! Why is it so expensive?' I'm like, that's how much it REALLY FUCKING COSTS! Alright!

The governments here in Europe are not designed to prop up war-mongering megalomaniacs in power who are willing to placate to local population with low petrol prices while ripping their personal freedoms off from underneath them, THAT'S WHY IT'S SEVEN BUCKS A GALLON!

And you wanna know the truth, I wish it was seven bucks a gallon, because then my friends back home wouldn't be able to jump in their big ass 4-wheel-drive Hummers and drive two blocks down to the Starbucks drive-through and get a half-caff double de-caff latte with a diet muffin on the side. What the FUCK IS A DIET MUFFIN BY THE WAY?"

I think some how all the future trading is gay. And all there is to make it jump $40 is something to happen linked to something linked to the middle east.
It's like... A penguin got hit by a north korean freighter. Oil prices rose out of suspicion a terrorist link.

Remind me again why we're not driving hemp-biodiesel/electric cars?

IIRC, VW's Polo gets 70+ mpg.
The '79 VW diesel Rabbit in my garage still gets 50.
This is fucking pathetic. We're ('we' meaning Murka) supposed to be the greatest technologically adept nation on earth, and we're still driving in cars that are less efficient than Ford's original Model T?
Fucking pathetic.

Stuff like this makes me laugh all the time. As if the american government ever controlled gas prices to begin with.

Well at any rate we have to ween ourselves off of gasoline. We can't just drop everything petrol and move to electric, corn powered, whatever overnight.

Still, it's sad to now 35 years ago there was an electric concept car that got a 300 mile range and 0-60 in 4 secs. And now? We'll no one makes electric cars, they make fucking hybrids, which are retarded, because they don't get any better fuel economy and drive like shit.

Anyway, the solution is simple I think. Invest in battery technology and fusion and give tax cuts to businesses that completely cover their roofs with solar panels. Solar and wind fields are stupid, we have thousands of perfectly good roofs that no one looks at anyway. Only problem there is that electric companies won't buy the power back into the grid.

And then theres the "problem" of a lack of infrastructure to distribute electricity  All they need is a fuckin outlet on every gaspump.

Obviously it's a big change, but it's a change for the better, not just environmental wise, but money wise as well. Fusion power is safe, clean, generates rediculous amounts of power, and is almost here. just needs more funding.

There is one thing that Im 100% sure about. We (meaning humans) are going to use up all the oil. We are not going to stop using it until its empty.

We dont really have anything to replace our oil yet. Dont say electric cars, because if everybody started driving electric cars, the amount of electricity required would rise, and that electricity has to be produced somehow. Hybrid cars (Im talking about those that run on gasoline and natural gas), arent helping either, because instead of regular gasoline they just use up another fossil fuel. Woppey!

Until the oil really stops flowing, or maybe its prize gets so high that none except the military can buy it anymore, THEN there will come a new technology.

Am I the only one who thinks we are not running out of oil. The oil companies could just pretend that we are running out and suddently make a 200% profit. I personally think we have HEAPS of oil left.
