The meaning of life.

Postby Mr. Happy on Sat Dec 22, 2007 9:37 am

I think it's better to restate the question in a more intelligible way. "What is the meaning of life?" is a completely non-sensical question. This sentence simply has no meaning in english. When asking this, what people really mean is "what is the purpose of life?" Which is something that I believe I now know the answer to:

The purpose of life is to process and recombine previous assets into new and differing forms to create an infinite diversity representing all possibilities.

Of course, that would mean that every dynamic system in the universe is alive.

And I think they are.

Asking this question implies that there's some higher being who created the purpose of life. That is, if you're asking for a universal purpose of life, applicable to all living beings. To me, there is no deeper meaning in life or purpose other than what you create for yourself.

I'm not sure I understand your interpretation, though. Please explain.

Since we're probably pretty much accidental I don't think there's a purpose for us, well we should've been integrating into the ecosystem fulfilling a role in keeping it all going on Earth, but unfortunately we tricked the system and got bigger brains and are raping everything now.

Humans is only a series of acidental mutation that caused our brains to expand and get stuck into our bones. or something like it.

We are natures biggest misstake.

I wonder what'll happen to our homes when we're gone. If we die, do we take life on Earth with us? or will new lifeforms be created eventually?
Will urban areas turn into jungles where all sorts of creatures will start to live? is Earth better off without us? etc. etc.

more interesting questions than the purpose of us being here I think, there is none.

nice that you want to restate the question, but wouldn't the real restatement be "What is the purpose of LIFE?"

in that: "why is there life." so not the purpose of human intelligence or what it can achieve in it's meaningless short life.

your definition doesn't really answer anything, as it doesn't touch the real core of the matter.
we'r not the center of existence, so the answer is not gonna be find with us. It's not even necessary for us to exist, let alone be the answer to the existence of life in the universe...

asking the question seems like you're expecting an answer, I don't think you'll ever get one.

It's sorta like what I said the other night to my friend,

"Sarah, don't eat acid and try to phillosophate!"
kinda translates into...
"Don't live your life asking the question"

dunoo. food for thought
