Any sax players out there?

Hello all.

I was just wondering if anyone could help me out with a saxophone related question.

Problem is, I'm horribly flat. Even with adjusting with the embouchure and pushing the mouthpiece in, it is still flat. The mouthpiece is in as far as it will go. What do I do to solve this? This relates to my older sax, where the cork is very flattened out

This relates to my new saxophone. The cork on the neckpiece is new. With this particular neck, I'm terribly sharp, whereas with the other, I'm fine. It's so sharp, even having the mouthpiece barely on the neck is still resulting in a sharp tone. Again, what do I do?

Any help would be appreciated. I know if its sharp, you pull out, and if its flat, you push in, but theres nowhere else to go.

-Matt

I play brass, so I don't know much about woodwind instruments, but maybe it's your reed?

Tis plastic, and I've never had a problem before when tuning. It is a new plastic one, worth checking to see though.

Im a tenor
And if I remeber correctly if you use more mouthpiece it should make you less flat if makes you shard well then use less... I got a book around here somewhere Ill repost/edit once I find it. Has alot of useful info in it about this subject.

Bumping a 4 year old thread is punishable by a public flogging. Just check page 62 in the Interlopers handbook.

The video is great though.

Forgot to say, a bot bumped the topic. Mayhem probably forgot to check the date.
