HL2 for laptops

hi guyz i'm gettin a new laptop. Can you just tellme which one wud be good for source?

I have a laptop with a Geforce go 7600 and an 1.83 ghz C2D processor and it runs HL2 on max, CS:S everything without AA (it does work but not good enough). EP2 on the other hand I had to start turning down stuff even in SP in order to get it to run smoothly. Anything above that is probably gonna work rather well. Mine runs at 1280x768

You will want one with a dual core, probably Intel Core 2 duo to get the most out of it.

Also stay away from the worse graphic cards, go for the numbers 7600-7900, 8500-8800, 9600-9800

How about your price range?

Almost all of these in the list are good. The Asus M50-M51 and G series is good.

my current laptop is a HP dv6500, with a Core 2 Duo 2.2Ghz and a GeForce 8400M, running at 1280x800. CSS, HL2 is fine with all things maxed out, and EP2 and TF2 can be maxed out with the exception of AA, or a bit smoother by not getting the "very high" textures.

my old laptop, however, never seem to like the Source Engine

Those 8600 mobile cards got popular for laptops last year, and I'm quite sure they can handle the newer Source games nicely and should be affordable. Fortunately, Source isn't the most power-hungry engine out there.
