The other half of America...

Ok now, before you watch this, it's edgy, and I don't know if it'll set some of you off or not, but know this:

I'm an American, and I agree with this video 100%, every word of it. So before you jump to any conclusions, make note of that.

The video talks about why all the other countries in the world hate America, and how not all Americans are how the rest of the world perceives us as , and to be honest, this guy is completely right about it.

Watch it then post about what you agree/disagree on, but DON'T FLAME OR DERAIL THIS THREAD!

I don't want to have to hassle Blink or any of the moderators to have to close this thread due to people being childish about this, it's something I'd really like the input from non-Americans on.

What a fantastic film! I'm Danish, just to remind yall..

As an outsider it sounds very much like my perception of America as of right now; bombing and killing stuff they don't even know about. Of course there's the war on terror, yes. But don't slap the kid before he's eaten the booger, instead teach him how to clean his nose - with respect of his culture.

It's pretty scary for Danes what America is like, because these days we're governed by Anders Fogh Rasmussen, whose head is so far up the ass of Mr. "Butch" that he follows him just about wherever he goes, so he can roll with the cool kids.
Another thing is that we've been pounded abroad lately as well because of the cartoons. But just about every selfrespecting newspaper around the world have these parodies on politics and religion. We only light their fuse because we're in the bloody American war thanks to our prime minister.. When mentioning Denmark around the world people were all:
"Denmark.. That's in Sweden or something, right?" "OH, Denmark! H. C. Andersen and his childrens stories"
A peaceful, well liked nation. Now it's:
"Burn their flags and stomp on pictures of their leaders. Ban their import/export goods. Blasphemous dogs!" "Reckless idiots playing with the fires of religion"
Idiots! It's called free speech!

I suppose almost every western country these days are hated because of the wave they're on, started by Americans. So it isn't just America, it's every one assisting in their outrageous acts.

Holy frickin' crap I love this guy. He expresses everything I have been thinking and does it so much better than I ever could have. Heck, I just got done working at my summer-job and some people there were talking about how "we should just nuke the Middle East and get rid of the problem." Nuke the Middle East to get rid of the problem. There are so many things wrong in that statement I about passed out.

Also, I am sick of having to vote for our president (it seems almost every president these last few decades) who is more concerned about helping the big businesses that donated to their campaign than he is about helping the actual people that inhabit our country. Sure Wal*Mart has low prices, but have you read about the basic employee rights they are able to ignore and bypass? Or how about having to ban significant scientific discoveries because they "are against the word of god"? The same scientific findings that could allow you to grow a new kidney from your own cells instead of waiting for a donor to die. (I know they know allow stem-cell research, but it was a very very difficult hurdle for our government to overcome.) And apparently gay people are horrible and should have no rights. I'm told they take away from the sanctity of marriage, but I've yet to see straight couples uphold this sanctity so I don't see any validity in the argument. And every time I watch the news I hear how Ford or GM is losing money, but they keep making bigger trucks with poor gas-mileage and cry and wonder when people don't want to buy their cars. And hardly anyone (at least hardly anyone I know) starts a protest or joins a protest about things they don't like because we've been lulled into a life of apathy with the belief of "why try, we can't change what they are doing...."

[/rant]

Sorry about that, but there are so many things wrong in this country (I'm American) that I'm seriously contemplating moving to Canada and enjoying some normalcy before America decides to nuke the world because we keep getting told how much people don't like us and we deem them (the rest of the world) as "terrorists." I think the greatest part of this video is where he talks about the warning labels on hot food. Its so true.

I really liked this video, but I'm really upset about the non-christian comments he's been getting, like:

Thank youuuu!!!

Yeah i find being American to be embarrassing.

"keep your jesus off my penis
keep your bible off my balls
keep your prayers outta my ears
and your crosses off my walls
you can keep the virgin mother and the resurrection too
keep your jesus off my penis and i'll keep my penis off of you!"

n_- search for that on youtube

I am a christian, and I find this pretty upsetting, but hey, that doesn't matter 'cause all us christians are dumb red-necks who will soon suffocate on our own necks, or some shit like that.

Well, these days, if it's cool to hate America, it's even cooler to hate Christians. :(

Very, very good. I'm not sure if I'm in a position to agree being a Brit, but if I am, I do.

Ignore the video comments, it's retards trying to be cool on the internet.

And he was speaking of politicians and crap being fat rednecks who will soon suffocate in their own necks, not Christians. There are some pretty crazy-ass Christians out there (WBC...the suck fucks), and there are Christians who only worry about themselves and just go on with their lives, which is good.

Religion to me is just some belief that you don't know is right or wrong; that restricts your life and has so many boundaries you can't cross for the sake of faith, that it's like it literally leeches the experience.

But that's just my look on it, I never really liked going to church, never understood the passages from the bible, never figured out why we all stand up for one hour and listen to slow, boring music with our hands held out in front of us until our arms get tired. But I guess it's because of "faith" or whatever. If they want to be devoted to it, that's fine by me, but count me out. I won't criticize it.
