What I am talking about, is whenever I play DOD:S. Basically, when I join a server, the first 5 or 6 I'll get near immediately disconnected from. It might be a few seconds later, it might be when I'm running down the street or even when I'm facing an enemy. It just stops, and I get a time-out in red at the top right of my screen.
At first I thought nothing of it. Just the internet "warming up" if you know what I mean.
Then, the EFF launched it's new tool, "Switzerland." Basically, for those who don't know, it's a tool which tells you if you're ISP's is throttling any torrentin you may be performing, and according to some reports, is also able to point out when they've invaded you're privacy by looking at the information you are passing.
I was testing it out, just on a few basic websites when I had it running and set it to continuously watch my packet transfers by a batch command. After forgetting to deactive, I tried DOD:S, and what do you know! After checking my logs, it appears as if my ISP is monitoring my connections, and for some reason is attracted to my DOD:S games. I've come to the conclusion that the reason it stops disconnecting me after a few games, is because whoever's sitting behind that desk with whatever (in)appropriate anti piracy firm sign hanging above them, is learning to turn their surveillance equipment off for a while.
Am I being paranoid, or is this really happening?
