The 10th Dimension

Postby CaptrTheBag on Mon Mar 02, 2009 9:05 pm

If you have about 11 on hand I suggest checking out this video, it really gets the mind wondering. Why do we exist? What is everything? How can we even perceive everything? How can we even perceive being alive?
Just check it out...

back in highschool we got as far as the fifth dimension, and the basics of infinity in one dimension is finity in the next, but we never got to the tenth :p

never seen it explain so clearly, though.

I get it, but I dont know if I buy it :p I mean, we even imagine the first and second dimensions. We even imagine "time". Nice, tho.

This forum is two dimensional :D

It has length and height but no depth ^^

And while I can't really show dimension's 0 and 1 because they have no girth I can use a ruler to measure the distance between two points, showing an example of 1 dimension. And both of the points that I measured between each of those points would be 0 dimensions because its just a point.

ZINGER!

Edit: oh lol, I thought you were making a commentary about the 'depth' of conversation on here.
Actually, the forum does have a third dimension, or at least the screen you view it on does; not all of those photons on the screen are in a perfect plane.
i had fun once, and it was awful.

Ahah XD

Well yeah the screen would probably give it some depth but the actual website isn't made in a third dimension :p

Another example would be a brush covered with nodraw on all sides except one, you can only view it from the front but it has no depth.

Edit: Damn, I would love to see websites in 3d now. Blink get on it right away! I want the text to be popping out from the screen and the banner to be 3d as well! I'm going to need some 3D glasses :)

Sure it is! Think of all those little electrons sitting on a harddrive somewhere, storing all this data.
