I don't really understand why this is such a media hype. The king of pop symbolically died years ago. And because he now really died, there is a lot of commotion. I can't see anything positive this man added to the world and I don't like his music either.

Rest in Peace. however.

I was sad when Mr. Rodgers died, but I could care less if it was MJ. He was a pedophile and I never liked his music; although it depends on your taste of music, and his just doesn't happen to be in mine.

If tons of people were really laughing at the announcement of his death in public, then it just goes to show you how bad of a reputation he has. Sure his music was revolutionary, but that came and went, and so has he.

I find it strange that people have to make such a big deal about a celebrity dying; like when Anna Nicole Smith OD'd (as well as Heath Ledger). They're just people like everyone else, and everyone dies eventually, whether it be natural cause or not. They may have certain qualities that have influenced some aspect of the world, but they're still people like us. Like when random people CRIED about MJ's death; I mean seriously, they never personally knew anything about him whatsoever except what he looks like, and the music he's made. I guess it's because he was a legend and now he's dead. But as Z@C has said, his music isn't gone, so that aspect isn't a big deal.

To be honest, the fact that he's an accused pedophile, I could honestly care less if he was alive or not.

I think MJ deserves at least some form of recognition and memorial, and for one reason. He influenced an entire generation of music (in my opinion).

He also had amazing songs (Beat It, Thriller, Billy Jean, etc...) and was a great artist.

Rest in Peace, Michael. You kicked ass.

Apparently posters of Micheal Jackson are even now being put up in children's bedrooms across the world - so he can continue to keep them up all night....

Micheal Jackson's dying wish was to be recycled as a plastic cup, so kids can continue to get his rim wet...

What have Asda/Walmart and Micheal Jackson got in common? They both have boys pants, half off.

It's a shame really. I mean, he did some weird shit, but he was pretty damn important musically and influenced many musicians to this day. Similarly to elvis, MJ will probably be remembered more for his music than his weirdness.

I'm not sure they would remember him mainly for his music. Wacko Jacko.

This is one of the most important music change in my opinion. No Wacko Jacko :>

I turned on my MP3 player today, set on random, and guess which song comes up first?

I didn't rip that CD (guess what, I actually bought Black Holes and Revelations - it was 5 euros*) so I don't have t3h MP3s.

I quoted the first two lines of the song in my post anyways. You should know what song they are from. :/ It's obviously MJ, since I wouldn't be posting that in this thread...
