Obama doesn't deserve it. There are/have been people in this world that have done far greater things for humanity & peace, that have never gotton one (Ghandi f.i.).

I think it's time to wake up, it's a diversion tactic to have media talk about this i.s.o. something else. For instance the cuddling up to Moscow by Obama, the US healthcare reform that has overnight changed to healthinsurance reform - whic is a HUGE difference, the fact that europe is an inch away from the final steps of turning into a total police state where, amongst many dubious things, the deathpenalty (!) is going to be re-instated..

Here's my problem with the whole thing. IF Obama received the award for talking about reducing nukes....well gee, who do we know was trying to get rid of nukes before Obama? President Bush. Who criticized Bush for his war decisions? President Obama. Whose getting the Nobel Prize for trying to get rid of nukes...President Bush........er wait... WHAT!? Obama's getting the award for something BUSH did!????


If this is true, then that's just wrong.

Also, I feel that Obama is just digging himself a bigger hole by winning the award for simply talking about stuff.
It's so early and I don't know how the guy is going to live up to all these expectations.

Yeah it is pretty sad when you get elected because you are the lesser of three evils. But considering Obama had really not done anything before he was elected This whole thing just follows the trend. I am looking forward to seeing who runs in 2012... I hope we get better candidates to choose from...

It amuses me how he's getting an award for peace when he's sending out more soldiers to Afghanistan.

Obama is a perfectly competent president, he just isn't the messiah everyone makes him out to be. He's just an ordinary guy who has a massive pile of shit to deal with.

This is just a strategic move from the NNC, because now, Obama must do something to earn it. They have never done this before, and it's very controversial, giving a prize to someone who hasn't done anything, so there must be an underlying cause to all this. My theory is solely based on assumptions but now that Obama did get it. He is forced to actually do something to earn it. It is a smart play from the NNC to actually speed things up a bit.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee gave him this prize because of simply that. By giving him this, they signed his name on a contract for world peace.

It's like saying to a kid, "If you get this car, will you be nice then?"

I think it was a good move ... I mean, many Nobel Peace Prize people get it because of their visions. Think of Dalai Lama. Did he free Tibet? I don't think so. It are Obama's visions which he know has to work really hard for, because to him, it is more a burden than anything else.

And by the way, republicans are only fretting about it because they KNOW none of their idiots (Bush, Palin anyone?) is ever going to earn as much as the Big Heap Of Shit award.

TBH anyone who leads a country has to be an arsehole. Yes some politicians start out with good intentions, but in order to climb the political ladder they need to listen more to greedy businessmen than the people they serve.

I can't think of any political leader from any political party that I've liked. Wait... I guess Junichiro Koizumi was pretty awesome, but that's because he was so damned funny.
