Stupid People

Postby HotFuzz on Fri Nov 13, 2009 10:16 pm

The other day on my way back from the recruiters station, I thought alright im hungry my girlfriend is not gonna be over tonight might as well grab a bite to eat. So i headed to Mc Donalds. I pull up to the drive thru and looked at the menu, asked the young man over the intercom what are the amounts of chicken nuggets i can get. He said Two, Four, Six, Eight and Twelve. I told the man I would like a half of a dozen chicken nuggets. He said sorry sir we dont have a half dozen of chicken nuggets we have 2 4 6 8 and 12 , i chuckled and said give me six. When i got to the window I asked the young man what grade he was in, he said he was junior and he doesnt like school. I mentioned that a dozen is 12 and the half of that is... wait let me get my calculator cause this a toughy omg its 6... DING DING DING the price is right!!

Then again, I would label McDonalds as maybe not a cause, but certainly a symptom of todays mess.

Seems to be a general decline in intelligence IMO.

Talk of McDonalds reminded me of this.

"Twelve percent of respondents said the symbol of Britain's Remembrance Day is the golden arches of McDonald's, rather than the poppy."

I blame reliance on technology to get people through the day, instead of relyinh on their own brains. Perfect example here.

Hahaha, omg why not just give them the answers. It's just training them to use google. Well, I guess it depends on the tasks and the subject/matterial.

Im giving him the benefit of doubting the clarity of sound going through that intercom.

Having worked in service, i've had to deal with my fair share of "vocal gibberish" that im supposed to translate into an order.

I swear, maybe he heard "I'd like alvadruzin nuggets please"

After he told you he disliked school, you should have told him to get comfortable at his job.

This is how the world ends:
America makes nukes, thinks to itself "don't need these now, save em for a rainy day."
America becomes incredibly stupid.
America realizes they have nukes.
America uses nukes.
World ends.

"half-a-dozen" -> "have-uhh-seven"?

And you can get a few percent to answer just about any poll question stupidly.

Now, maybe you did encounter someone dumb. At the same time, their job requires them to sit and grin in the face of certain kinds of verbal abuse, and I wouldn't want to add to it over something like that.
