How to deal with a massive break up

Postby Berusadeankan on Mon Feb 01, 2010 9:48 pm

Picture you're self in the perfect relationship. Everything is going awesomely fine and you're all up in lovin. Until one day when you find yourself all alone. How would you deal with this massive break up?

I should perhaps add that this is just a general question, no big emotional post here no ; )

Like a man, keep it inside and don't post about it on forums.

Well, depends who it is, how much I cared for them, what caused the breakup, when it happened, why it actually caused a split and who else was involved, just to begin with.

You can't just generalise.

But personally, I throw myself totally and utterly into a physical hobby - usually climbing or something where I can simply hurl myself and really push for it, and totally forget everything else while knackering myself in the process. You also meet new girls, that really helps you move on faster.

I drink.

Doesn't particularly help unless you're naturally somewhat knurd, like me :(

It's a bugger.

EDIT: Or you could just learn to not use the carve tool.

Been there, done that. It fucking sucks. It's very hard to move on and get over the person, it can take months, years, but you've got to keep going forward and hold your head up high. I've learnt to always be as optimistic and hopeful as possible, as something more amazing could arise around the corner...
but yeah, it's tough. Was in a very similar situation this time last year. I found it was best to just cut off contact with the person totally, as I felt, if I carried on talking to her, remaining 'friends' or whatever can just mess up things more, especially your emotions. It worked, haven's spoke to her for a year....Found someone else. Life moves on lol.

Aye. I'm coming out of a messy break up with a girl I was with for 3 years. Not fun. But I'm at uni, and hell, it's my birthday tomorrow so I'm going to get drunk as a skunk and enjoy the company of some rather gorgeous girls I shall be heading out with :D

We should have a pint when I'm back home, me fellow west country lad :smt023

Pah, "more fish in the sea"... You gotta be in the sea to notice that!

Anyway, I'm in a very awesome relationship now, and this is my first serious one so... We'll see what happens, not sure what I would do if it ended...
