I hate how you put people into boxes like this. Often people have opinions about politics which put them into two camps at once, but since they are forced to pick a side, they have to take part in the silly squabbles and accusation-games the partys play out amongst each other. It's bullshit.

This chart is designed to put people into two camps at once.

I don't want to start a fight, but being two-dimensional is only slightly better than 1-dimensional :P

Actually Happy is right... There are more than two elements and two sides to a political view. Something like this is designed to show that even people who disagree in some areas can actually find common ground in others. It is this mindset that I feel needs to be adopted in the world. So many people focus on differences rather than similarities. By doing that it closes minds and makes it more difficult to work out problems. For instance people in this country who bash anyone who thinks differently and labels them a racist for not agreeing with our current president. That kind of behavior closes doors and stops rational discussion. I understand who putting someone into a category can be tricky, but this is obviously designed to eliminate the... "I'm a liberal" or "I'm a conservative" answers... It is more complex then that, because we as people are more complex then that...

That's pretty much exactly what I meant though, I probably should have been clearer that what I hate is the general situation of putting too simple labels on political opinions instead this exact graph thingy.

YokaI wrote:Apparently I am centralist, but I don't think I agree with any republican ideas. I was in-between Liberal and Libertarian.

My real thoughts, republicans are just plain silly and they're position on serious issues are only there to (temporarily) boost big business, and democrats are so fucking stupid for not pushing an agenda and letting the republicans block bills and stop progress even though we had, and still have, the power to oppose such childish blocks.

In other words, fuck politics, fuck voting, fuck political parties!

YokaI...
marry me?

btw I'm a liberal Centrist.

I think it's worth pointing out that, despite the questions for that political compass thing being fairly poor anyway, basing on the types of answers you can give, there are other details to consider from the chart, such as the fact that the left/right horizontal axis is based on economic views, and the vertical axis is based on your views on things like religion and crime.

Although at the end of the day the results aren't particularly relevant. I'm a member of the UKIP party here in Britain and a few members on the forums have done one of these tests. The results were across the board, proving people can be in all sides of the argument.

I live in the U.S. I have views that comply with both Liberal and Conservative ideals. That's why I'm staying as an independent when I'll be old enough to vote in the next election.

Also, is it just me or did some people vote on this as how their country is and not what themselves think?
