Or similar. Something that contains the community as a whole - I mean EVERYTHING Source related - and our issue.

No.

Not the community bit I mean, the 'against the SDK'. We aren't against the SDK, we just want to see it fixed.

I hate to shit on this, but I really doubt that even if we got valve to respond we would get much change. Source is just outdated big time and its as simple as that. And just like many of you my only reason why I haven't abandoned source is that I have invested a lot of my time learning it and enjoy mapping with it for some of my favorite games. You never know though, we might be able to get something done as a community. I'm in.

Well, yeah. Obviously. The key point is to think about a name. We need to avoid long-winded crap and shitty names.

Ideally, something short, easy to acronym and above all memorable.

So not something like 'The Current SDK is an Absolute Embuggerance and Makes Some of the Community Want to Shat on the People at Valve who Maintain it From a Great Height'.

Well at least we aren't fighting for Truth, Justice, Reasonably-Priced-Love, and a Hard Boiled Egg.

Guys, I just wanted to say You are doing awesome.
And please remember, it was not my intention for us to honestly be called (whatever) for ever.
It was a spur of the moment kick, the kick that starts everything.

I wont be able to help much today, internet is begin a bastard and we have guys coming over.
So go ahead with any plan you guys think best fits us.

Can I request that we add "The option for Integrated LUA scripting" to the SDK codebase?
It would make life so much easier for our coders if they had the option of choosing LUA.

As for groupname, why not keep it simple: "Petition for SDK improvement"

K joined the group, the number of hours this week alone between the members is phenomenal. Hopefully if that gets high enough it should put some weight behind the actual number of members.

OK, as it stands we have 2 name options.

  • Source Modders SDK Fix Petition
  • Petition for SDK improvement

Please suggest you're own or explain why you think a name does not work.
If we can get enough agreement on one name I'll make the new group with the chosen name.
(sad side effect of making the group, cant change the name)

Yep all member will be warned of the group change and all aspects of moving over will be handled by me, as i created the group i an required to handle the group's collapse and reformation XD.

I'll add in my own,
  • Source Modders for SDK Improvment
Basically just a combo of our other choices, SMSDKI? Maybe we can skip abbreviations XD.

I'll volunteer to deliver it. I can walk there on my lunch break. But I'd have to walk in quietly with a nice suit and do my bad impression of the G-man voice. It also seems a bit more inclusive to other mods.

That said, I still haven't gotten any response from the last time I went there with a physical dead-tree letter, so...
