I thought they were a place for gangs to recruit and/or kill people. Oh and you can go through school while there, so you can, you know, not get hired cause you were in prison.
My vision of what prison should be: A small box, one man box with a: toilet, sink, bed and basic computer. You sit in your box until your sentence is over.

Want to hear an interesting story about those attacks?
My gf decided to go to norway with her ex. Long story about why, but main thing is that I disapprove of that...
Saturday morning I wake up. Very irritated about what I just said and the fact that I had a weird dream. This is my dream:
In my hometown I was riding down the highway with my bicycle together with my bro, when I decide to plant some bombs on the highway. I spawn some cars first to make the explosion bigger. After I go away a few hundred meters and detonate it, I ride away quickly with my brother. Then I woke up.
After getting over my weird feeling awakening I go bring the trash down, when I spot a newspaper: "Terror attacks in Norway"
Imagine how fucked my brain was... :/

Doctors will just declare him crazy, put him in mental hospital for the rest of his life and melt his brain with drugs. Justice served.

Wait... Gary, you think prisoners should have a computer? I have major issues with people who do not commit crimes being unable to afford computers or other things like cable TV, while my tax dollars go to pay for criminals cable and computers and whatnot. Jail/prison is punishment. Break the law and you should have to go without certain things...
Anyway, I was out camping all weekend so I did not hear about this. My prayers go out to the people who are effected by this.

It wouldn't be some kinda awesome gaming machine with full access to high speed internet.
It would allow for you to communicate with the outside world(to only certain people, if permitted to) and such. You couldn't watch Youtube and stuff like that.

Its funny I was actually talking with someone just last week about how organized crime is now run from inside prisons because they can freely communicate so easily with people. I just think they need to take all that stuff away from those people. It is one thing when it is low level crime/non violent crime. But hardened criminals these days get WAY too many perks considering prison is a punishment.

Have you seen his manifesto document? It's huge and gives an insight into just how strongly Anders believes in his cause.
It's quite the read.

My best wishes to everyone in Norway.

Prisons are supposed to educate people so they can go back to society.
I agree with this.
I think that maybe 20 years is too short for this man (is that really the maximum?) BUT the whole purpose of having laws about criminal procedure is to prevent people from freaking out and over-punishing when the most heinous events occur. It is wrong and contrary to the entire purpose of law for a government to avoid or change a law in response to the rare case when it seems to weak.

21 years, if however they then feel he shouldn't be released they can extend his stay for 5 years, and after 5 years again do the same if they still feel that way. They can keep on doing this as many times as needed

Honestly, I think he should be thrown into a fire. No amount of time in prison would be enough for murdering so many people in cold blood.

The only sentence I can think of that suits this crime is 500 years in solitary confinement.

I suppose if we used all our medical knowledge and infinite budget, we could keep him alive that long.
Still like my fire idea better, I'll go warm up the emergency intelligence incinerator.
