Help with guitar tabs

Postby Blink on Mon Oct 01, 2007 6:42 pm

I'm trying to learn a song from tabs, and although I've had no trouble reading them in the past these particular ones have confused me.

Code: Select all
e------------------------------------
B------------------------------------
G---------------------------7-7-7-7--
D-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7--4-4-4-4--7-7-7-7--
A-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7--4-4-4-4--5-5-5-5--
E-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5--2-2-2-2-----------

Code: Select all
e----------------------------------------------------
B----------------------------------------------------
G-----------------------------------9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9--
D-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7--4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4--9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9--
A-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7--4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4--7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7--
E-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5--2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-------------------

The bit where the 4th string comes into play, notably the second set of tabs here. How an earth can I get my fingers to go from 2, 4 and 9 all at once?

Either everyone else has super flexible hands or I'm not reading this right, any hints?

you sure its not just a typo? It looks like it should be moved a bit forward.

Maybe forum format...

Anyways, they are power chords, so changing from the 244 to 799 is no problem. just slide smoothly over with the powerchord hand locked :P

You click on Build or type
make (or some equivalent), and you are astonished, then mortified, as you realize that the whole world is being
recompiled and relinked!

I just tried playing whilst ignoring that extra bit and it sounds fine so it must be a retarded tab, but it was on more then one version so tis why I queried it.

The 9s are meant to be under the 7s

Edit: Copy + Paste it into notepad to see what it really should look like

An order of being misaligned. All of those are simple power chords A, F#, D, then A, F#, E. Same finger position for all, you just move the formation.

You could have also pasted it into Microsoft Word, and changed all the font to Courier New.
