Not daniel craig. Anyone but him. After casino royale I would shoot myself before watching him in any movie known to god.

Christian Bale, Gerard Butler and Jeremy Irons + City of Ember style art direction... Zomg. You should be directing this movie lo-fi!

Seriously, that combo plus art direction evidenced in that trailer would be incredible.

Thanks for pointing me at that trailer by the way, I totally passed off this movie after I saw the logo and thought "Meh... Another crappy superhero film." Looking forward to it now! Been a loooong time since I've been interested in a film.

Doom did suck ass, which I saw coming, really. It had some funny stuff in it though.

I think I remember Gabe Newell talking about how someone had already attempted to make a Half-Life movie but it just didn't match up well at all. He said the main problem is the fact that Gordon is a mute in the game, and it would be damn hard to implement a character that never spoke and be able to understand him. Also, you like never see any part of Gordon except his forearms and hands, which I think Valve did on purpose, and this would again interfere with a Half-Life movie.

Systemshock however would probably make a great movie. Many of you might hate me for saying this, but I honestly wish the Halo movie would get made for once instead of getting cut from its budget.

I have Half-Life 2 Episode posters in my room for Episodes 1 and 2, and the Episode 2 one shows Gordon. Also a poster from when Half-Life 2 launched showed Gordon, so they wouldn't have a problem getting it to look like Gordon, just the mute problem...

Yeah, Hugh Lorie would be an incredible actor for Gordon's physical appearance and Christopher Walkings for the G-Man, but I'm derailing this thread, so I'll stop there.

Daniel Craig is fine but too old, remember looks for about 20-25 years when he gets back to Rapture. Andrew Ryan could be played by the guy who played Barty Crouch in Harry Potter. Frank Fontaine - I don't know, Gary Oldman maybe?

I'd like to see Sean Bean as:

* Jack
* Andrew Ryan
* Bridgette Tenenbaum
* Atlas
* Frank Fontaine
* Bill McDonagh
* Diane McClintock
* Dr. J.S. Steinman
* Dr. Suchong
* Hector Rodriguez
* Johnny
* Mariska Lutz
* Martin Finnegan
* Peach Wilkins
* Professor Julie Langford
* Sander Cohen
* Sullivan
* Pablo Navarro
* Kyle Fitzpatrick

What? I think Sean Bean is awesome!

As for the Half Life movie.

Gabe said that it's doubtful it would happen. The movie never went into production and it wasn't any one thing that stopped it. It was passed to many different people but valve were never happy with anything anyone came back to them with.

To paraphrase he said, "The problem is Half Life is a computer game. We know abotu computer games, we know how to make computer games. We know nothing about movies or comic books and we honestly wouldn't want to trust someone else with our story."

My personal take on a half life 2 movie would be not to include Gordon at all. Centre the film around a group of citizens. Rather then make Gordon a character make him and ideal. Like in Opposing Force. He is refered to and you catch glimpses of him and his handy work but there is never direct interaction.

This would solve the problem of him speaking and would also feed quite well into the story. I mean we have the games for the saga of Gordon freeman. i love the Half Life universe and want it expanded and it helps support the idea that the "Free Man" is some kind of legendary savoir in the world.

Just to quickly make a point about Gordon, I strongly believe hes not actually a mute - hes just not given speech in the game because it stops the player feeling and reacting how they want. Alex said to him in the elevator "not much of a talker are you", she wouldnt say that if he was a mute, thats just harsh - and she would know if he was or not. They could just simply give him a voice in a movie, the film doesnt just have to be about Gordon as well, I would hate it if every scene Gordon was in it.

That's actually not a bad idea at all. I'd be down for that.
I feel like another movie did that same thing pretty well, not showing the hero but hinting at him, but I can't remember which one it was...

Well, you know what they say, a man chooses, and a slave obeys, so I'm gonna be a man and choose not to see this, unless reviews say it's any good.
