Metal fans out there?

Films, albums, random internet videos.

I have all of Caliban's albums, but I only really enjoyed The Awakening. Their album Vent, which I think was one of their earliest ones, wasn't that great, but they were just starting out I think.

The album Undying Darkness is also pretty good. The chorus singer wasn't as good as he was in The Awakening though.

I used to listen to Killswitch Engaged as well, but I guess I've stopped doing so. I might play a song or two every now and then though.

I am also a big metal fan, but I am into a little different genre then most of you guys, although I started out listening to bands like Caliban, As I Lay Dying, and System of a Down.

I have gotten more into death metal / technical metal and black metal, Ares Wrath, Cannibal Corpse, Hate Eternal, Defleshed, etc. It is really good stuff when you're trying to come up with really twisted ideas for maps and things of that sort.

Well, I really hate how a lot of people look at metal. I REALLY hate the term "screamo", because it's just another way to sing lyrics and people can't understand that. They just don't appreciate creativity and diversity in music and all they want is rap artists singing about sex and money.

Anyway, if people actually read the lyrics, they could understand that a lot of metal sings about realistic things, and stuff that's not like "go die in a fire, I hope you burn in hell."

Now there IS metal like that; a lot of metal like that, but then there isn't. I like the kind that isn't like that more than the kind that is.

Just my 2 cents on that subject.

I like the kind where they scream about people dying in a fire.

A good example,

Internal burning
An omen reborn
Embrace the torture
Purify the soul

Bathe in red hot coals, dripping skin become a pleasure
Face begins to melt, liquid from the head rewarding

Eternal burning
Sanctified with flames
Unholy recourse
The demons are here
Unleash the fury

Body slowly burnt, vital organs charred and blackened
Scorch to disinfect is the method for acceptance

Purification by fire
Transformation is rapture

Well, I like metal too.Disturbed is my favourite.Sick lyrics, and I love how they play. And another metal band is Subscribe, but they mix the genres, however, they are brilliant.I don't think that you know them, becouse they are Hungarians. You can listen to some of their songs on YouTube.

Dude i hate dream theater. I was a fan for about a year. The more i listened to them, the more i thought every song was the same. They are like techno metal. But not techno. It's like cheese metal. I don't like it.
Anyway, I don't like authentic metal.
