Best music scenes in movies

Postby MELVIn on Wed Oct 22, 2008 8:09 pm

Me and a friend of mine were watching "The fifth element" earlier today, and during the movie, he just couldn't shut the fuck up... until it was diva time. He then proceeded to just stare at the screen and didn't say a word for the entire song. I dare to say that anyone who has seen the movie remember this scene probably more then any other scene from the movie.

Now I was thinking, are there any other music scenes from a movie that made you drop your jaw? I'd love to see them :D

oh and btw, here's Lucia di Lammermoor from "The fifth element"

^ You do realize that clip had different voices, right? Apparently some kind of project where they had to sync their voices with Dolby Digital surround sound using Quicktime.

The climax of Metropolis (the 2001 anime version, not the old Fritz Lang one).
Use of Ray Charles' I Can't Stop Loving You is just beautiful and still sends shivers down my spine every time I watch it.

Major spoilers galore:

Nothing, and I mean NOTHING beats this! I mean, Dio, Meatloaf and Jack Black!
It's from the movie of Tenacious D if you didn't know.

The entire intro montage thing of "Kobol's last gleaming" the first part of the season finale from Battlestar Galactica's season 1.
Including but not limited to: great music, sex, a boxing scene and somebody getting shot, basically every good thing to come out of your tv all wrapped in one package.

Too bad I can't find it on Youtube... ah well, at least the fans know what I'm talking about.

Oh there's an awesome intro aswell! It's from the show "Firefly" which is one of the best... no THE best show that has ever been shown on TV! I bought the box over from America since it's not on sale here in Sweden. I mean seriously, this is an intro I never FastForward past.

I saw Tropic Thunder yesterday(finally) And the scenes where Tom Cruise starts dancing all of a sudden made me laugh, really hard, I'm not gonna post a link because that might spoil, if you want to see it, search it yourself :)

The BEST game-intro I've ever seen has great background music too, it's from Killzone:

Nice... Last of the Mohicans right? I liked how the music spanned across several scenes, and I liked how there was no dialogue throughout most of it.

Yes! That made the film for me, and gave me faith in Cruise's career again.

I couldn't find a video for it, but the ending scene in Sublime was amazing.

Sadly that's all I can think of...

This scene near the end of The Sum of All Fears, well done in my opinion. Spoilers, obviously.

And then there was that scene near the end of the first part of Children of Dune(based off Dune Messiah actually) which had a very similar string of events going on as in the first clip I posted.
