Escape From City 17 - Part One

Postby The Doctor on Fri Feb 13, 2009 1:17 pm

I found this on YouTube, through Gametrailers.

Escape From City 17 - Part One.

It's also available in HD, and I urge anyone watching to use it. The normal quality version is pretty blurry.

Man you guys are really lame!
So hard to please! haha.

I thought it was absolutely incredible. I was actually in awe. Yeah the special effects weren't perfect, acting wasn't amazing but hey - it's not a feature film, I'm not going to complain.
Great job tbh, can't wait for more.

I like it. Quite a lot. I think it deserves a newspost.

What do you expect for something that only cost $500. I thought it was great, especially my favourite Synth. The Strider :-D

This is exactly why a film can be made properly. Considering it cost 500$ (source above) and they still made it as awesome, who cares if those zombies were a little crappy looking (I don't think the Combine looked that bad) and yeah maybe some of the effects weren't up to par, but honestly, a feature film will have a hell of a lot more money spent on it, and considering it can only look better than this if done right smells good to me.

it did look great but some simple stuff could have been done to make it look more realistic

for an example, look at the rebels, they look all healthy and clean
that chinese guy even has gel in his hair :P

Okay, from a film-makers point of view, I thought it was pretty impressive for the resources, that's effects I'm talking about, acting not so much, but hey, I thought they integrated the CG effects pretty well for all that shaky cinema-verite style. Believe me, compositing stuff like that is really annoying.
