Star Trek

any trekkies out there?

Im bored and i always enjoyed when this was on the tele (or atleast: not bored) so i thought i'd err... buy a few seasons. Yet now im confronted with tens of thousands of seasons varying from

star trek deep space nine to voyager to enterprise to legacy to who the hell cares. Wtf is all that crap? So two questions arise:
-which one is the one with Jean-Luc ? (not the crappy old one, the semi-new one) Also, is that the same one as the one with the blind black dude, data, and those cyborg cube ships thingies?
-which one is the most entertaining / worth dow... err buying?

May the force be with you all. Oh wait, different show.

"The Original Series" are too old to be fun. "Enterprise" (the latest series) is just plain bad. In my opinion "The Next Generation" and "Voyager" are the best series Star Trek has to offer.

IMO, the Next Generation wins it all. Mainly because of Patrick Stewart (Jean-Luc). I really love Star Trek as long as there's Jean-Luc. :P

I'm not totally into star trek, but I think I've seen practically all of next generation an voyager (they kept re-running it on TV). So a note on voyager: there have been a number of episodes of voyager that where totally about some sort of french town they simulated on the holodeck. It had nothing to do with what I would see as star trek, being encounters with foreign species and conflicts involved. I'd try to stay clear of that season, it seemed rather weak (i don't know which season that would be though..)

Jean-Luc is about the only good thing about ST:TNG :P I mean sure its got its charm, and Ive seen them all I think, but its just so cheeeeeeeeeeeeesy sometimes, especially compared to some of the other sci-fi series' around. And gawd their uniforms, why couldnt they keep the old ones!

Yeah, TNG is pretty good. I love Picard. :D

Right now I am watching Deep Space Nine. Finished first season. It's not that good, but it's good when you want to watch something before you go to sleep. It has a calming effect. The actors are pretty awesome, though, especially that nasty ferengi bartender Quark. The actor is probably not much different from Quark in real life. :P

Also, for some reason the first season has a ton of sexual references...:S It's Star Trek! Trekkies don't get laid?!

:P

heh, just finished the last episode of the first season of TNG. Good enough for those times inbetween other things, but still... The enterprise, i never realised how flimsy the ship is... Its shields cannot take more than 5-10 hits, prisoners who escape the prison can get to the ships core and point a faser at it without anyone stopping them, the ship can be split in two, but each of the parts have their own (in the series even identical) rooms ? Apart from the bridge both parts have the exact same transporter rooms med bay, etc.
Oh, and captain picard is tiny. :p
