The ultimate Blu-Ray experience...

Postby Bema on Sun Mar 29, 2009 6:06 pm

Okay peoples, another film related thread from me. :-)

I just bought a PS3 (hush please) and want to get the most out of the Blu-Ray capability.

What im looking for are the best looking films on Blu-Ray. I know the quality is somewhat upped across the board with Blu-Ray films, but considering their price (and their size to d/load ) im really just trying to pick out the best looking ones.

I've currently got the Golden Compass (which does look stunning) so don't suggest that. Other obvious choices include The Dark Knight & Iron Man, but past that my minds blank.

Suggestions would be appreciated. :)

Sunshine. Sunshine in 1080p looks fan-fucking-tastic.
28 Days/Weeks later look alright, but are awesome movies. 720p only, IIRC.
Batman Begins is pretty nice; a hell of a lot better movie than the Dark Knight. 1080p.
You should see Kung-Fu Hustle if you haven't already. Hilarious. 720p.
[rec]. Watch it alone in a dark room with a window open to let a cold breeze in. Best horror movie ever made, hands down. 720p.
The Fifth Element! 1080p. Korbin Daaaaaaallaaaaaas!
i had fun once, and it was awful.

I'd have to buy a new TV after that.

Golden Compass annoys me.

It's NORTHERN LIGHTS ffs. Philip Pullman = legend, especailly as some dumb catholics tried to ban his book.

Anyway. Sky Captain and the World of...er...Tomorrow? I honestly can't remember the name of it.

Amusing Edit: bwahahaha....Left for Head....bwahahahahahaha.....</impish laughter>

What? That can't be it that's a silly name.

Reminds of a Bill Bailey quote (there's a suggestion - Part Troll).

"The day after tomorrow is the first day of the rest of your life - that way you've always got a couple of days in hand".

EDIT: jag har rätt :P http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sky_Captain_and_the_World_of_Tomorrow
