Exporting in Premiere

Postby Zipfinator on Thu May 28, 2009 10:58 pm

So I've got my video all edited for my school project and stuff and I export it smoothly, but it split up the sound and the video into two different files... How do I join them together into one or do I even need to if it's going to be on a DvD? Would it just be better if I export it as a .avi with the sound and video in one and then convert it to MPEG?

Yes, export it as an .avi and then I use VirtualDub (free) to compress the sound and video into an xvid avi file.

Okay, I just started exporting it as an .avi. What's the best file type to use for putting it onto a DvD? I was going to use MPeg but I'm not sure which is the best and which even work on DvD players.

EDIT: I'm exporting it as DVD, some setting the converter had. Not sure if it'll work, but I'll try it unless someone points me in the right direction.

EDIT: That weird filetype/export didn't work in any of my video players so I'm just doing it as an MPeg4 now. Will that play on DVD players if I burn it onto a DVD?

Does anyone have any help on this? I'm trying the Mpeg on the DVD but I don't want to get through like 5 different filetypes before I get the right one.

Not sure if you have all the production suite programs but if you do try exporting from encore straight to dvd. Not sure if you can do this in premiere haven't used the production suite programs in a while. They just sit on my hard-drive.
