It's almost an hour and a half long! Just give us the gist of it.

Well this might be considered the gist of it. Basically it's about creativity and the way our system of education and our system of thought is outdated and no longer effective in respect to the society and the world we live in. It's also about how to find your passion/talent, and basically a very wise and thought provoking "lecture".

Ken Robinson is amazing. I've seen a few of his lectures and he's right on every point he makes. Also he's funny, which sure makes a one hour thirty minute video easy to watch.

Absolutely love this guy, such an inspiration. I totally agree with the way he sees the education system. Something really needs to be done. I am a perfect example myself of how the education system is fundamentally flawed.

he is very good.
never heard of him before watching this but i pretty much agree with everything he said.
I always felt that i was penalized for having an interest in music and art, and had loads of people telling me that i could never make a career out of it.
Its true, our educational system doesnt encourage people to express their alternative talents to the fullest...thats why you have to fight for it and believe in yourself alot...

People always see doctors and lawyers or politicians as the top of the hierarchy, but never really consider the importance creative media actually is, and how much it's given us.

hell, even my parents are still a bit sceptical about me taking up studio engineering/music production.

but i'm sure the majority on people on interlopers have the same sort of mentality, as we're all engaged in a creative format, whether its a hobby for some, or a career for others, from talking to most people on here, if games design isn't their primary passion, then another creative art usually is...which is pretty awesome i think :-)

So true, I Absolutely flourish in game design and the like, and yet my grades often aren't the best things in the world.
I did however Bring home a trophy in game design for my high school, How many people can say that?

Probably a lot of the young people at Interlopers, it's rare that High School kids are interested in Game Design as a career so early, it's just a dream of theirs that they have no idea how to achieve. I know a few of my friends are like that and it's annoying because they think "I'm going to Westwood College to learn Game Design! Then I can work at Blizzard!" Makes me want to punch them in the face... Of course my High School is full of idiots so maybe it's different in other places.
