http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bm13ZhE7J1k I like this beat more so than the one you just linked. Maybe I am a sucker for sub woofers lol

Either way I can't wait.

Yeah I am not ready to throw it under the bus just yet. I have given it a listen a few times threw and although it is a lot different from their other stuff, so it is difficult to say if it is as good/better/ or worse... It took me a few listens of demon days before i got into it, so I will hold off judgment a bit longer...

I like it. I got rid of Sweepstakes or cakes or whatever it is called because it is utter shit with its repeating two notes and lame ass gibberish rapping.

To be honest their golden song for me is Empire Ants. Song caught me off guard because it's so calm and them SWOOOSH you feel like you're suddenly flying the way it picks up.

habboi that sweepstakes song with mos def is nice man, its a party song and it gets me in that mood.

anyway you are totally right about empire ants, I was listening that with the headphones on.. I admit I was a litlle high at that time so the effects of the music might have ''bigger' so to speak
but damn.. I was working on some models and all the sudden the beat just flipped and that girl started singing.. I was trippin monkey balls

I'm not saying it's terrible, just that there's a lack of hit material that the other albums had... I love empire ants, "Super fast jellyfish" makes me lol when that guy says "DONT WASTE TIME!"

Orchestral- Good... not great..
Welcome to the world of the plastic beach- Wow, thanks Snoop, I love you, but you just repeat the title several times.. alright I guess
White Flag- much of the catchiness comes from the two gentlemen rapping back in forth, and that lasts only a short time
Rhinestone eyes- absolutely love it... creates an awesome mental picture
Stylo- Not the best, but pretty good... it sounds extremely clean, as I said before, it's a song I could shower to
Super Fast Jellyfish- Love it... reminds me of a cheesy breakfast cereal commercial... dont waste time!
Empire Ants- Excellent, Gorillaz really need to use Little Dragon more, she's wonderful, and has a unique voice
Glitter Freeze- Fine... kinda seems like an alarm is going off and a man is on a megaphone, but not too bad
Some Kind of Nature- What the hell happened here? Catchy at times, but seems extremely drug induced, especially the part where he says "but... I really like mice"
On Melancholy Hill- Gorillaz songs always seemed to do this weird thing to where they could be mainstream, but not sound it.. this song sounds kindof uninspired to me, not the worst though.
Broken- Can't get the hell out of my head.
Sweepstakes- Acid trip while watching late night MTV in the 80s... not good.
Plastic Beach- Atmospheric, but the lyrics repeat a little too much. Not bad, but repetitive.
To Binge- Another one with little dragon in it, great, I wanna sleep in a hammock and have this in a loop
Cloud of Unknown- Bobby Womak, do me a favor and never go near Gorillaz again, you don't sing, you scream as if you've fallen and cannot get up..
Pirate Jet- not a good way to end the album...

These are only my opinions, noone but Bobby Womak should take offense. Listening to this album compared to other Gorillaz work, it seems a ton less effort, and a few kilos more drugs where put into making Plastic Beach, It's not terrible, but I was extremely hyped to hear more songs from them, to me, the only high-dollar Gorillaz material here is Empire Ants. Of course I'm reviewing the vanilla version, without the added tracks, those could be amazing but I doubt they would put all the best songs as addons.

As I suspected.... I listened to the album through several times today and it has grown on me. I still have my favorite songs from all their albums but this one is pretty damn good. The initial reaction I normally have is usually because the style is different from what I have heard in the past and is not what I am expecting. But like all other albums in which that happened this one I can now appreciate and enjoy...

I bet none of you suckas have seen them live though!
They were amazing, amazing, amazing.

No i really like Plastic Beach. There are a few fluff tracks. Sweepstakes is bollocks. But some of them have grown on me more especially since the live outing heh. I bought the first two albums today. Much more of a hip hop feel, I wouldn't say they are better, it's just the new album has take a different progression of sounds, possibly influenced after Albarn's Monkey: Journey to the West album,

I agree with the few fluff tracks, but it seems they're too many... some of them have grown on me, I didn't like them but the songs always stick in my head...
