Hey guys. So I've decided to finally release for the first time 3 tracks to the public. I was going to add more but I felt like I just wanted to put it out there.

That's really cool. I enjoyed it quite a bit.
Especially "First Contact" reminded me for some reason of some of the later stuff by Jim Guthrie, and that's a good thing.

It's an EP, or "extended play." EP's are longer than a single, but too short to be considered a full album. On the other hand you have LP (long pay), which is basically a full album.

EPs are good for artists who have trouble keeping inspiration. It allows them to create a few really well-polished tracks while not running out of ideas and such.


Anyway, while it's not my cup of tea, I do like how you've incorporated some video game chip tunes. I love chip tunes and 8-bit. Some mid-range distortion in the first track, though I don't know if that was intentional. It didn't mess with the song as a whole, so it's not much of a negative.

The one thing I will comment on is the abrupt ending of the tracks. First Contact ended the best, but Heliopshere (which I liked the most) kind of cuts out near the end. Then Fhloston Paradise sort of fades out rather fast. A lot of people honestly don't care about this sort of thing, but I personally like when a song ends well. Especially if it's part of a cohesive album. You generally want your album to flow between tracks decently. It doesn't mean they need to "connect" like some artists/bands will do with tracks.

No I know what an EP is. It's just that I talked with him like a week ago about it and he mentioned adding more tracks that's all. Which I hope you still do sometime Hollow. I guess you're busy with other stuff though, such as working hard on de_contention...

I'll be adding more or creating a second longer EP (probably 5-6 tracks), but I just felt I needed to get some tracks out there as it's been like 5 years making music and not releasing it publicly.

I'll add the incentive to buy/listen by providing a free download in the second EP

Honestly, I just throw all my music out there for free on Soundcloud. I'd love to sell it but I really don't think my stuff is worth paying for.

Well I didn't put a restriction on playing it on bandcamp, and I also have the tracks up on my Soundcloud that are 'free' to stream.
It's just an extra option for those who would want to support by chipping in a little bit of money. (plus you get to choose your file format and get a HQ version of the artwork if you buy it).
