I would not say that I am a fan, but I listen to them and a few songs in my collection.

I have most of their releases but I am not a fan of black metal philosophy (or lack thereof). Satanism is retarded and so are pretty much every black metal band. I guess that's why I like Dimmu so much more though...they never really tried to pull that whole "Aborted Fetus Intercourse of the Dark Lord of Darkness Manifest Unto the Gore-Laden Throne of Satannus" bull-s**t. They were always pretty decent for black metal.

I'm more interested in NSBM than normal black metal but I still dislike it strongly. I mean Dimmu Borgir has a lot of talent; otherwise I probably wouldn't listen at all (and I rarely do anyways) because all black metal really consists of is "there is no God, Satan is cool even though we do not support this perspective with any real evidence, every Christian deserves to die even though I'm allegedly open-minded" etc etc.

I saw Dimmu Borgir when they came to Kitchener and it was an amazing show that made my adrenaline pump so hard that I rocked out all night and in the morning I needed help getting out of bed. I think that was the most intense rocking I have ever endured. Sweet.

EDIT: I might add that Nile is an absolutely incredible death-metal band and I am going to get my CDs to listen to them right now.

Dont care for them or any other heavy metal band. Lyrics aren't usualy very good. For me, its all the composing that really matters.

I'd rather listen to Opeth.
