A very long time ago, I mapped a bit for Duke Nukem 3d, after that, some fooling around in QuArK for Half-Life 2, but nothing ever came out of that. A few weeks ago I decided to start mapping again. I had just played a few games of HL2 DM with one of my housemates, and realised our house would look really cool in a game. Not the most spectacular idea ever, but it has been fun so far. Since then, I've fooled around a lot in Hammer, using the tutorials and forums on this site to learn the more advanced stuff (which is everything apart from running the program).
I don't know if I'll stick to mapping after that map is done, but it's seriously addicting, so who knows!
Also included in this introduction is a standard disclaimer that English is not my native language and that I possess only a basic knowledge of the language, along with some standard expressions. But you're probably used to that, this being the internet and all.
