Coulianos says hello!

Postby Coulianos on Sat Aug 22, 2009 3:39 pm

Hi guys!
Time for me to reappear. I'm Filip Coulianos from Sweden and has been around the mapping community since about 2002 but had a break from the communities during the last 2 years because ive been working on projects such as Decadence and Project 25. I was registered as MisterBister back in the days, but changed nick as I grew up :P.

I study Computer Game Development with an emphasis on graphics and have been doing so for a couple of years. In the future i hope to become a level designer or environment artist at a company somewhere in Europe.
I'm mainly here to give feedback on the projects around here, but also of course, to get feedback on my projects ive got in store.

I can do level design and environment art as I have been doing Maya and photoshop for a while and would love to help out or give feedback. I also like to do articles about level design, something that ive been doing at the university of Skövde. They are available at my blog as well, and I have some more coming up pretty soon, so stay tuned.

My personal portfolio and blog can be found at:

I had a nice trip to Budapest that the company payed for but they hired another guy. Most probably because I had very little experience with Cryengine. However if they need another junior level designer theyll hook me up later this fall.
I had a great time there though :D.

Welcome to Interlopers. :D
I just read through your blog and watched the presentation videos on Youtube, and I have to say that I'm quite impressed.

I look forward to playing through Project 25 when I get a chance.

The Swedish game industry had a turnover of 12 million dollars in 2007. I'm pretty sure the states movie industry does alot better than that, but one single game here has a bigger turnover than the whole swedish music industry combined. That said sweden has extremely competetive musicians on the international market. So yes, in a sence the swedish games industry is very strong, but everything is relative. Theres only 9 million people living here and the economy has made a friggin darn heavy impact on it as well. 20-25% of all the proffesionalls has lost their jobs. But I hope things are turning for the better in a year or two.

Hehe! Good times. :smt023

GRIN going down sucks and loosing a job is never fun, but it's not the end of the world. I haven't got a new job yet, but there are some opportunities. Waiting for emails to be answered. We will see what happens, I will update you when I know more.

Until then, I will have some time for my Source projects. :)
