I've lurked these fine forums and tutorials pages for about a year or so, and I figured it was about time I joined up!
I'm mainly interested in level design. I'm currently working on a Single-Player campaign set in the Half-Life universe, running off of the Episode Two engine and assets. Original, eh? I hope to distinguish myself within the HL2 mapping community with interesting gameplay ideas, good puzzles, and a solid presentation to tie it all together. Basically, I want to start my first true mapping initiative strong and keep building from there. I hope to get the first part of this project out sometime this year (aiming for two chapters), with additional parts releasing as soon as they're ready. I figure some may be interested in a wip shot or two of an area of the first chapter (comments, critiques, etc welcome):
I quite liked that func_smokevolume fog, but it tended to run out after 2-3 brushes worth. In the future I'll be looking to replace it with a particle system of some kind (played around with those a little, they're quite fun).
That tangent aside, hello to everyone at Interlopers! I think I'll like it here.
