Hey,

I'm hoping that I can find a new place for some wicked collaborations.

I'm an experienced level designer, I'm still young and it's what I'm going to school for.

I hear lots of good things about these forums and I hope to feel comfortable here.

Here's a thread started in the design section showcasing my work:

Your maps are very nice, lighting is a little bland or oddly coloured in some, but overall very nice work. Welcome to the community.

I like the architecture of some of your maps. And welcome!

Do you have any finished work? If you've been "tinkering with Source since Half-Life 2 came out", you should be having some maps playable at least. I don't know if anyone can really call him-/herself a 'level designer' if there are no released levels designed, where you could see how well you actually designed it.

Eitherway, welcome aboard!

My apologies for such a bold approach;
I'm still young, and I was younger still when Half Life 2 was released.
I might have been 11 in 2004.

That's just it tho, 'tinkering' as in time spent not so seriously, it wasn't until my second year experimenting with it that I thought my work would be worth posting.

Now having the attention span any kid would, I did my best to learn how to use the SDK.
This was before I knew of websites like this, Half Wit 2 or Facepunch, so I'm primarily self taught.

I don't release maps publicly, but if someone comes to me and asks how I did something, I'd let them use a decompiled VMF for learning purposes.

Currently, I'm doing my best to succeed in college, it's my first year on the video game art development team and needless to say, I'm excited and nervous, but ready.

Ah yes, that's right

You forums are against eachother

I never really did any hardcore browsing, I just stayed in the mapper's forum.
