HL2: DM code editing

Postby deadollie on Sat Apr 14, 2007 5:34 pm

Hi,

I want to edit a script for my mod so that when you die you do not respawn until the end of the round, it is forced teamplay all the time and when a whole team is eliminated a new round starts.
Which script(s) do i need to edit?
Where are they?
How do i need to edit them?
What directory do i need to put them in to be run with my mod?

Any help is appreciated,

Well, HL2:DM is mp :P

HL2 is not based on scripts as UT is. You need to actually program with the programming language C++. I guess you would have to learn that first.

Yh u cant just get into the source engine like that, you will need to learn c++. Look at the links on the resource thread to get you started.

lol, didnt read the title :P

anyways, game_shared\gamerules.cpp (or something like that) holds game rules (no shit!). So if you want to change anything, do it there (tho, looking at the code, there seems to be a teamplaying switch already present)
