iam a bg2 developer (texture artist) and our main coder lef the country for some month...
now we released the new version 2.0 and ich the next little patch 2.1 we want to add usable cannons, as many people ask for them.
for naval fights and on lad so i think we need a "cannon" entity.


(woulb be awesome in a naval fight ^^)
can someone tell me how complicated it is to use a finished cannon model - add some button for rate and that it fires the muzzle flash + smoke from teh musket + buckshot?
the problem is - i can create a workign cannon in hammer - but its ver "homebrew" and sucks. it spawns the cannonball and throws it away with a phys_explosion. doesnt look very good.
can you maybe tell me the general way how to code such a thing? i think you need to know C++ !?
how long does it take? ^^ before i ask people to create me such a thing ^^ (i think its a interesting project
