[Help] Hiding objects

Postby ICO on Sat Jul 03, 2010 9:33 pm

Hi. As far as I know you can spawn objects at a specific point. But my question is can the object then be hidden and a new one spawned in his place?

For example: two models make some sort of effect or a more complicated model(like a clock). The first is spawned, he finishes his animation and is hidden, then the second one is spawned on a relative or exact position and his animation then starts.

I believe an object can be hidden if the coder increases its alpha value to 100%.

Any help will be deeply appreciated.
Thanks.

Set it to "No Not Render"?

I assume you are using prop_dynamic

TurnOn & TurnOff inputs Control the prop's visibility.

No it's alpha value must be 0 and alpha is not in percent its in bytes so 0-255.
Anyways you can probably to it in hammer and you can disable the entity itself instead of hiding it therefore it wont glich because entity would be inside entity.

Once again I can rely on Interlopers to get help. THANKS ALL :)

I'm a mere modeler who know how to compile for Source. But I don't map or code. My client does the mapping.
