'Ideal' animations?

Postby Tomalla on Fri Aug 20, 2010 1:27 pm

What's the difference between "ideal activities" and ... normal activities? The same question is regarding ideal sequences. I find them all over in the code and when I want something to play the animation, should I use 'ideal' ones or not?

I think the ideal activity var only sets the ideal activity for the set action. Like here:
Code: Select all
if ( playerAnim == PLAYER_JUMP )
   {
      idealActivity = ACT_JUMP;
   }

AFAIK, there are no set of ideal activities. It's merely just a var or so that tells the engine that when the player enables THIS action, THAT activity should be used. Activities are all prefixed with ACT_ and none with ideal in the picture.
You click on Build or type
make (or some equivalent), and you are astonished, then mortified, as you realize that the whole world is being
recompiled and relinked!
