Many mod issues

Postby disturbed on Sat Nov 20, 2010 5:33 pm

Basically, I have two different mods that I work on. One works perfectly, the background loads properly (the default one for Episode 2, with the portal storm), and all the models, textures, etcetc, are loaded from Ep2, Ep1, and HL2.

My other mod does not work properly at all. The background is pink and black squares, and an error shows up in console hundreds of times: utlbuffer.cpp (220) : Assertion Failed: nSize != 0

I also get a little pop-up window asking me if I want to ignore it and stuff.

After I press Ignore All, I can open console and load my map. The room is alright, but I get errors saying that the jeep is missing it's "tiresmoke" textures for when I use the handbrake and stuff, and the zombine model is just the error.mdl.

I have made NO changes to the source code that came with the mod (Source 2007) and I tried to compile Everything, and compile the Episodic client and server DLLs. The DLLs compile fine, but the "Everything" package does not (Honestly, Valve...)

Why doesn't my 2nd mod work correctly like my first one does?

And why can I no longer make mods? The only two options available in the Create a Mod window is Start From Scratch, and the one about Multiplayer above that.

Edit: I also have to run my mod through Source SDK Base 2007, or else it crashes before I reach the menu. I debugged the crash and Visual Studio marked this line:

return presence->GetPropertyIdString( id );

In case anyone ever has similar problems, another guy by the name of Biohazard_90 helped me get everything working. You can read our conversation over here: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/s ... ?t=1599976
