Hosting Server Error

Hey guys,

not sure where to post this - but I can't host a game, and get my friends to join. They get the following error "lan servers are restricted to local clients" can anyone help me out pretty please??

Open the console and try sv_lan 0

I tried that, but nothing worked. After reading quite a bit of forum talk on this, there's something called server.cfg in the hl2mp/cfg file, but I don't have that file. Any ideas where to get it??

I also port forwarded everything, friend can see my server but can join! :'(

You need to create it yourself. A template file can help. I found this on my first google search - http://forums.srcds.com/viewtopic/10/2

Hmmm well that was a step in the right direction I'm sure, but it still doesn't let friends connect - I've also enabled the program to pass the firewall. >.<

Here's what I do for listen servers:

sv_lan 0
ip <yourexternalip>
heartbeat
changelevel <mapname>

The changelevel is crucial for some reason
