Our current project will have a similar tone but with more complexity and depth in both gameplay and aesthetics. The project will be a commercial game utilizing a heavily improved version of the Source Engine. The game is what we would describe in short as "Portal meets Amnesia", a firstperson horror/adventure with sci-fi elements heavily driven by puzzles and narrative.This is a paid position and we're currently looking for a Lead Programmer to help us out, the prerequisites of which are listed below.
What we're looking for:
*Proficiency in C++ a must, JS and HTML are also welcome
*Experience in dealing with 3D game engines a plus
*Experience in gameplay programming. More specifically AI. Programmers will ahve HL2 code base to work off though so it's made easier
*Basic or intermediate understanding of HLSL a plus
*Ability to dedicate time to the project
What you'd be doing:
*Creating and modifing gameplay elements such as NPC AI, player movement systems, in-game UI and Hud work.
*Improving and extending Deferred Rendering
*Creating a UI frontend that supports flash/video playback.
Payment methods we support:
This position in a monthly flat rate, though we're willing to work further details out with the applicant if need be.
While we are currently unable to post more detail about the game in public, we'll be more than happy to discuss it with you in private including your rates. Our team is only 7 people and we've been working with each other for years, we're laid back and this is more of a flat structure environment. We consist of members who have worked on previous games such as: Sourceforts, City17: Episode One, Forza Horizon, Unannounced 2k Games title. The game has been in pre-production since GDC 2012 and we can assure you that we have laid significant groundwork for the project.
However we don't expect you to go on a leap of faith so here are some very WIP screenshots of what we've managed to accomplish using the modified Source engine.
