Mounting Steampiped CSS content

Postby SM Sith Lord on Mon Jul 08, 2013 4:16 pm

Is it still possible to mount Counter-Strike: Source content into Orange Box SDK mods? Would I have to change anything from the old method?

I am assuming the information on the Wiki is out of date since the Steampipe update. Is this a correct assumption? Thanks for answering my stupid questions, it will save me a lot of time not having to google it to find out for myself.

Source 2007 mods can't touch SteamPipe related things, so if that's your question then the answer is no.

That does answer part of my question, thank you.

How about Source SDK 2013?

Everything using SteamPipe (including 2013) should be able to mount content in the GameInfo.txt (surely its possible in the code as well, I just haven't looked at it yet).

Shouldn't this work in Source SDK 2013?

Code: Select all
game            |all_source_engine_paths|cstrike/cstrike_pak_dir.vpk

or this

Code: Select all
game+mod            cstrike/cstrike_pak_dir.vpk

or a simple this

Code: Select all
game            |all_source_engine_paths|cstrike

Yes, that should work as far as I can tell.

Cool, thanks for straightening me out about that. I'll have to port my mod over to SDK 2013 one day to get compatibility with all those wonderful CSS maps again.
