I know, thats why I got bad marks; I just couldn't write anything more about Sonic (Can't believe you read them
Also, a showreel is meant to show more then just one room. =)
Is it, just thought it was a collection of video
I do like your office room, that is very nice, how long did it take you to create all that and did you make all the textures?
In terms of hours of work, Not long at all. Like I said in a previous post I spent most my time getting drunk. I could reproduce that in a few hours probably. All the materials were from 3dsmax 7 archmat apart from 1 I beleive.
The matrix lobby on the other hand is very plain and boring. :s
Indeed, have you tried marble textures in Max? They look horrid
I watched all the motion capture videos and... well, take them off to be honest. Most of the animations are horrible with people falling through floors and footwork kinda floating between frames. Crazy stuff. I've not done any motion capture but I'd expect something much better from it.
I was only the media director for the motion capture. I learned how to do all the capture and data processing, but I wasn't assigned to that part of the project. If you think its bad (apart from the video sequencing) I suggest you blame my flatmate and the age old mocap suit we had to use that isn't even manufactured anymore.
Also, why did you give the biped only one toe?
Again, not my fault... I got the rendered videos from my flatmate and had to sequence them together... how challenging and I got a 1st for it.
Sorry if that seems harsh, you are definitely coming along, especially for what? Two years of learning? You should stick to one thing for the moment such as mapping in a certain engine before you experiment too much with others in my opinion.
6 months of learning (2 x 3 month semesters)
I'd rather you be harsh and truthful than lie to me and say OMG wow its amazing, and I wish i could stick to Source but unfortunately they are going to cram the following down my face in the next year of study:
High Concept and Preproduction
Production and Testing
Multiplayer Online Gaming
Texture Creation - Procedural and Parallax etc
Optical Motion Capture (Hopefully 2 toes this time)
HL2 Modding (Group Project)
3D Applications Advanced
And probably more...
So I can't really focus on 1 thing
Good luck with it all =)
Thanks
