Feedback on a design

Postby BaRRaKID on Tue Mar 25, 2008 10:32 pm

I'm doing a re-design of the site from the company i work at, and i would like your opinions. You can check the site so far here: http://img296.imageshack.us/img296/4900/sondardesignfy9.png
The old design is at http://www.sondar.net

and before anyone comments on it, I'm aware that the images have the dreamstime watermark, I just don't want to buy the images until i make this design final :P

Too many different font styles for my taste. I can't read it, but for me the middle and bottom parts compete in which seems more important, and it's a little irritating for the eye. I would choose one central point of importance and focus on it, while keeping the rest of the text more neutral to get clearer structuring.

It only uses one font actually but i see what you're saying.
The most important part is the top left section, i wanted it to stand out a bit more, but couldn't find a good solution besides making the heading font size extra large :P
Maybe if i make the font size of the headings in the bottom section smaller it will work... I'm going to test it.

Thanks for your input :)

I don't think green and orange go so well together. If it were up to me, I think more pastel colors work. Their pale appearance but not TOO pale look gives it a nice sleek look. Try fiddling with the colors a bit.

Otherwise, it is an improvement. Hope that advice helps...

I had to redo this design, do to some quality policies that the company has (regarding logos and symbols), and i would like your opinions on it:

Looks alright, basic but clean.

The only thing that caught my eye was the underline effect on the header and the text above, doesn't really suit the design.

Shout if you need markup/CSS help :-)

The lighter orange words are links, and the underline in the pic is to show the over effect. I might change it to just a simple line, just to have that shows that they are links.
About the header, i have to agree with you, i just wanted to add something that made it stand out a bit more. I might change it to category related icons on the left of the title to differentiate it from the rest.
Thanks for the tips :D
