If I'm honest mate i think you're trying to hard to be snazzy, with all those rounded edges and gradiants. Sure they can improve a site but they can also be overused. Try enlarging your font in the browser to see how your current one breaks for example.

Perhaps go for a white site design with some soft colours instead of a harsh green and black that reminds me of a counter-strike clan website.

Try looking through these pages for inspiration and maybe consider getting a graphics designer on board if you struggle? I also find designing a site difficult but I find it very effective to pick some basic colours that compliment and go for a simple design from there.

Web designing, really isn't my thang. lol. Im trying my best. yeah im pretty much have a mind set of web designing things that are shiny. So im going to havta try to get outta that habit. that smashingmagizine site, has alot of great insperational sites that arent shiney, but still look good
