Suggestions for hosting?

I'm looking to host my next website somewhere without ads, and prefferable with the basics i need to have a working blog, forum and homepage.

I've tried lots of free alternatives. They all suck like most things that are free.

I do have a small budget, and i know GoDaddy offers hosting for about $5 a month.... my question is, is GoDaddy worth the $4.55 a month for their hosting? Because the services i see offered are well over the $35 a month mark.

Question #2 is if i can get hosting with SQL, PHP etc, can i host my own game server?
Or do they require special setup or a special type of database to have them operate properly?
Would it be wise to run server + website with the same hosting if indeed it is possible?

Reason being i purchased combinesurvival.com yesterday and need somewhere to host my html etc without embedding ads or banners on my site ( GoDaddy )

A link, a name, a price, any info is good info right this moment.

Budget would be about $20 a month max.

I've been using Digital Pacific for two years now and I love 'em! Yes, they are Australian (suits me!), still awesome though

I was on the most basic plan now I'm using the Business Basic one and it's pretty darn good.

Blue Host is very cheap, looks alright too! Their servers are probably overloaded though, so I'm not sure whether it'd be worth it.

Woah thanks for this, also never knew there would be an upfront option to pay for 3 years, especially in hosting

EDIT: These guys use some of the same servers as Rapidshare dot com correct?
Global Crossing and Telia... but i was also told these are ISP's in Switzerland?

Deal still look great, and i've got nothing against Rapidshare for all the lovers about to defend it

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions, i took each into deep consideration...


I've chosen Digital Pacific on a 3 month plan to trial their services, if i don't like their service i might move to the above mentioned Ace-Host

One question, how do i redirect http://www.combinesurvival.com to http://www.combinesurvival.com/index.html

I think this is done Domain side not to sure, help would be much appreciated

Why do you want to do that? It's already loading index.html, just not showing it in the uri bar because it's the root file or whatever.

ok cheers, i worked out it was because i hadn't cleared my browser cache so the old digitalpacific index.html was still showing when i typed without the index.html part of the end of my url
