Hey all!

What do you think of my site, removed?
It's my online portfolio.

It's not bad, the navigation is a bit clunky and all the borders + popup menus make it tricky to use. Plus you seem to have a lot of pages with no content which creates a bit of an unprofessional look.

Remember that a portfolio is supposed to make you look good. :-)

Whoa! I actually got constructive critisism!
You see, I've got a lot og "sweet"'s and "omfg u suck"'s so far and they really aren't helping. So, thanks :)
Yeah, the navigation is a bit advanced - and I know the bordors are confusing... I've tried simplifying the layout for readability, so check out the site again now if you want to.
And the empty pages - so, somebody finally noticed! I haven't taken the time to fill out every page yet but I'll get to that as soon as possible... Tomorrow, perhaps.

Perhaps some kind of arrow on the links that have pop-ups attached, so that the user has some clue beforehand?

I also recommend you try a different set of colours the ones you have are too harsh and they clash a lot, also about the navigation remembers simple is good. If your working with dreamweaver cs3 they have some nice spry menus although they have very messy code but its isn't to hard to fix that.

It looks a great deal better now, the previous site had a too dark colour scheme for a portfolio site.

About the new site; is it possible to create the menu without JavaScript?
JavaScript is (mostly) eeevil.

Yes, you could use Flash but... Really...
JavaScript isn't evil. Not using a well protected browser, a firewall and common sense is evil :)
I never really understood why people dislike JavaScript. All I know is that it opens a lot of doors to scripted interactivity and that the employees at the software development department in which I spend my practical training in elementary school got quite a laugh when their security manager asked them to disable JavaScript due to a new virus threat. Not gonna happen!

Javascript is cool when used properly, but I still prefer to create drop-downs with CSS whenever possible because it's generally easier and the less JS that is used equals faster loading.

I modified this one for my needs recently - http://www.cssplay.co.uk/menus/final_drop.html

If you don't like using the conditional comments to hack IE then you can always use a bit of jQuery or something just for IE6.

To be honest, I never thought of the possibility to create drop-downs with pure CSS :) Thanks!
However, I think I'll stick with JavaScript... I like the fancy fades and they require a more advanced scripting language than CSS.
I'm currently researching for the final bits of code. Hopefully, I will have the dev-site replace the current in a week or two :)
