I dont want to read it (cant read the language anyway)
The language is Latin. In typography, "Lorem Ipsum" is often used as filler text to demonstrate blocks of text. So, you're not supposed to be able to read it.

Anyway, I like simple, but the second design is too simple for me. So, I say use the original, with some suggestions:
1. Use the logo from the second design (including the font), but keep the header background of the original
2. Lower the font size of the menu buttons and box headers
3. Play with the anti-aliasing settings for the text in your images to get rid of the distorted edges (set it to Crisp, for example)
