Very orange site

Postby arieas on Wed Oct 22, 2008 5:19 pm

Been getting designing a site in photoshop now, sort a first go at putting it into dreamweaver, few issues with the over construction though, such as long content on the main space pretty much breaks the left and right side up.

The orange if anything stays to give it a warm glow, white is so last web 1.0... :smt004

I like it. Although, I'm interested to see it with some content. While it may look easy-on-the-eyes at the moment, once you get lines of text in there, it could look a little too busy. I could be wrong, though.

I rarely ever design a page to be more than 780px in width unless it's a database application with large tables and forms. For something like a blog or portfolio, I find it difficult to stay focused on lines of text that stretch all the way across my screen.

I do also like the colour scheme, but for blog sites, do personally believe they should maybe go beyond many standard colours to git with a sort of personality, but then again I suppose the colours could be blueish white :D

I have stretched the site a bit, the aim was to make it suitable for more mobile apps, but not sure why, maybe if the person to use it was to blog on the go.
Keeping it around the 800-900 range.

I have a problem with inserting content though, since I used the slice method in photoshop, when inserting content that goes beyond the the the intended content area it breaks up much of the page are around it, the nav bar, the right bar.
Was thinking, maybe an Iframe for both the left and right side?
Or have the main content area scrollable, maybe contained in an Iframe instead.

Trying to get a blog script also that will in, but the rest of the site not sure how to go about doing that content, maybe just standard way, since it wont need to be updated often.
