Seeking inspiration for possible V3 of portfolio site

Postby krainert on Tue Mar 24, 2009 12:22 pm

Mjallo,

My current portfolio site removed replaced the previous one removed and now I'd like to start working on a V3... The only problem is that I really, really suck at the interface/graphics part and could use some inspiration. So, do you have any ideas as to how I could present my portfolio? Complexity is not an issue, but, as always, less is often more.

I kept mine simple. Still needs touching up tbh and more content adding but it's a start: http://noodles.darkflarestudios.net

See if that gives you some ideas.

Edit - let it load up, might not be particularly fast on some PCs, I'll have to cut down on background file sizes

Thanks, that's an interesting approach. I'm thinking of doing something simple and straight-forward like that and cut all of my programming and webdesigning bullshit as I'm not really using the site for anything in those directions anyway. So, I'll see what else turns up in this thread :)

Looks pretty useful :) Thanks!

EDIT:

Check this out: removed
Basic layout... VERY basic. Anyway, comments and suggestions would be appreciated.

A bit too basic, maybe consider something slightly more imaginitive for your navigation.

Yes, it isn't that creative... Quite boring, frankly. Got any ideas for a more innovative menu structure/layout? People tend to hate drop-downs and likewise so those are already cut.

There are loads of examples on smashing mag.

Or maybe try a bit of jQuery and add some spice?
