red lines under all links

Postby surgeon on Mon Jun 22, 2009 11:58 pm

i started putting together a portfolio a few weeks ago after releasing my newest l4d map, and while everything looks fine in dreamweaver, once i preview it in firefox i get red lines under all my links, even picture thumbnails, the same as the spell-checker in FF. the problem is it's got nothing to do with spelling (like i said it happens with pictures too), and since i'm using a very basic colour scheme the red really stands out. i've tried googling but that doesn't help, so is there some reason this is happening? i thought maybe it was underlining links i've already visisted at first but then it started doing it with new links too.

here's one of the pages:

also, any feedback on the design would be appreciated, it's the first site i've made besides screenshot-links-in-notepad. i'm not sure the white worls too well with these screens but there will be other maps plus models, textures etc that might fit better.

In your CSS there are the following properties:

Code: Select all
a {
background:transparent url(../images/underline.gif) repeat-x scroll center bottom;
color:#333333;
text-decoration:none;
}

Remove the background property and the lines will go away

I really, really, really, really like it, it's simple its' clean its focal point is your work, it looks professional and it looks sleek. Really good job, just got to get rid of those red lines.

Thanks :) I think that css file was only to get the site centred, never even thought of looking in there.

I've finished the page for all my maps now, might need to clear your cache to reload the files:
