Can you ... build a little Flash thing for me?

Serious question. $$ available for the work (to be negotiated).

Firstly, please don't tell me to google the thing I need. I have already done that and purchased several apps that claim to do what I need but do not deliver. Please only reply if you can do the work and are interested.

I develop websites using Cold Fusion and I have built a HTTP image upload process that works great... until you try to upload a massive file. I want a flash front-end to it that will check the file size before upload and error if the file is too large. Otherwise hand it off to my already running upload process.

I need to be able to:
1. Modify the file size limit in code
2. Control the custom errors returned for 'file too large'
3. BONUS: can the Flash app resize and optimize (to specified parameters) before handing it off for upload?(?)
4. Stage size 400px wide and up to 260px high (flexible)
5. Once you write it I will not resell it. But, once you write it, it is mine to do with whatever I want within my application. I don't care if you sell it without reference to my work.

If you can do this, and you are not adverse to me sending you payment via Paypal for your work, please PM me.

Why does this has to be a flash application? Sure, perhaps if you want the scaling and stuff done before the form is submitted... but you could work around that.

Oh no. You came here and wasted 42 seconds of your life. I hope that, with some therapy, you are able to overcome this devistation.

Berusadeankan,
Thank you for your queston. I am actually open to suggestions. I simply fixated on Flash hoping that with some actionscripting the image manipulation could happen client side. I welcome your suggestions if you know a different method. Please PM me with your recommendations.

with all due respect, but when it gets to file handling, there is no better option than java. It has the ability to check file sizes, upload in multiple streams (with the correct backend), and do any kind of (image) processing before the file is uploaded.

Such a positive attitude will ensure clients, along with your titling skills.

I am not looking for clients.... I am the client. Those who appreciate this thread as an opportunity to make some potentially serious cash for the holidays probably don't appreciate you filling it with clutter.

Actually, Quad SLI on two GTX295s is slower. Three 280s is 5-8% faster overall. Three 285s is even higher. This is a well known fact. Google it.

Here is a direct comparisson video for you.

I advise googleing a bit around, theres a ton of free java file upload applets available, no doubt there is one close to/similar to what you want.
